How do I move through the levels?
Coaches cover all the elements on the class cards over a one month period. Skaters are promotion is held the last Saturday of every month. If a skater misses promotion day, a coach may make an exception and promote them on the first Saturday of the next month. A skater must show they can successfully perform all the tasks on their class card before being promoted. Higher levels are also required to show understanding of technique and terminology.

How long should I expect to stay in my level?
Some skaters move out of Level 1 after their first month, however all the other levels typically take two to six months to master. To expedite the climb, skaters should practice weekly and at home if possible.

Our coaches can teach anyone from a first time skater to a serious competitor.

Beginning and first time skaters are usually paired with one of our Bronze Level Teachers who specialize in teaching the basics to new skaters. Our Certified Silver Level Teachers are best for intermediate to advanced skaters. These coaches are especially great for skaters who wish to someday skate professionally as roller dancers, or become champion competitive skaters. Our Gold Level Teachers are Certified Elite Coaches of the USARS and are recognized nationwide for their ability to produce national and world champion figure skaters.

COMPETITIVE SKATING

To test the skater's ability against other skaters, competitions are held locally, regionally and nationally. The Fountain Valley Skating Club is recognized as one of the best artistic skating clubs in the United States. Many of our skaters have won Regional and National titles.

Want to see what it is like to be a competitive skaters? Ask one of our coaches about the up coming local contests. If you can march and roll, you can compete!
